Technical questions
Hyperspan™ is designed to extend practical Ethernet and PoE reach on copper, reducing extenders, cabinets and powered mid-points. Real-world results depend on channel design, termination quality, PoE load and device tolerance.
What speed does Hyperspan support?
Hyperspan is designed to support Gigabit Ethernet (1 Gbps) over extended distances in point-to-point deployments. Actual negotiated speed depends on the connected equipment, channel quality and length.
How far can I run Hyperspan?
Hyperspan is engineered for extended reach beyond standard structured cabling distances. The maximum achievable distance varies with:
- Number of patch points / interconnects
- Termination quality
- PoE load (wattage)
- Environmental conditions and interference
For best results, use a simple topology (fewest interconnects) and validate on-site with the final device under load.

Does Hyperspan work with PoE / PoE+ / PoE++?
Yes—Hyperspan is designed for PoE deployments. However, higher power draw can reduce achievable distance. Always validate PoE under peak operating load (e.g., IR at night, PTZ movement, heaters).
Do I need special connectors or tools?
No. Use Cat6-rated connectors/keystones/patch panels and standard termination tools. On extended reach links, terminations matter—keep pair untwist minimal and avoid cheap connectors.
What is the recommended wiring standard—T568A or T568B?
Either is fine. The rule is simple: choose one (T568A or T568B) and keep it consistent end-to-end.
Will Hyperspan pass a standard Cat6 certification test at extended distances?
Traditional structured cabling certification limits are based on 100 m channels. For extended reach deployments, focus on real-world validation: stable link negotiation, error-free operation, and PoE delivery under load. If you need formal certification, contact us with your use case and tester model.
What causes most long-run failures?
Almost always one of these:
- Poor terminations (untwist, bad crimp alignment, conductor damage)
- Too many patch points / interconnects
- Low-quality patch leads
- PoE budgeting errors (device draw higher than expected)
- Crushed cable, tight bends, or interference issues

Is Hyperspan shielded or unshielded?
Product variants differ by deployment type. Refer to the specific product page/spec sheet for shielding type (e.g., U/UTP) and jacket material (e.g., LSZH / external grade).
Can I mix Hyperspan with standard Cat6 patch leads?
Yes. For long links near the upper distance limit, keep patch leads short and use high-quality Cat6 leads. Multiple patch points can reduce performance and add failure risk.
Is Hyperspan suitable for CCTV and outdoor PoE devices?
Yes—CCTV, ANPR and remote PoE endpoints are common use cases. Ensure you select the correct jacket rating for the environment and validate PoE delivery at the device.
Shipping and payment
Straightforward ordering, transparent delivery, and standard payment methods. For large reels/drums or project orders, contact us for a quote and lead time confirmation.
Where do you ship?
We ship within the UK and can support international orders depending on product and destination. For international shipping, contact us with the delivery country and required quantity.
What are your delivery times?
Delivery times depend on stock status and destination. Product pages will indicate availability. For time-critical projects, contact us before ordering to confirm lead times.
How much is shipping?
Shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on your address and order size/weight. For large orders, we can quote pallet or courier options.
Can I collect or arrange my own courier?
In some cases, yes. Contact us with your order reference and preferred method and we’ll confirm what’s possible.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept standard online payment methods available at checkout (e.g. card payments). If you need pro-forma or account terms for trade orders, contact us for approval.
Do you offer invoice / 30-day terms?
Trade credit may be available for approved accounts. Contact us with your company details and expected monthly volume. Until approved, orders are processed on standard checkout terms or pro-forma.
Can I return an item?
If you need to return an item, contact us with your order number. Returns are subject to condition and eligibility. For project orders or cut-to-length items, special terms may apply.
Do you provide VAT invoices?
Yes. Your invoice will be available with your order confirmation and/or on request for account customers.
Product questions
Choosing the right variant matters—internal vs external, CPR rating, reel/drum length, and colour coding. If you tell us the use case, we’ll point you to the correct SKU.
What’s the difference between Hyperspan and standard Cat6?
Standard Cat6 is designed around a 100 m channel. Hyperspan is engineered to extend practical reach for Ethernet/PoE deployments where additional cabinets, extenders or fibre would otherwise be required.
Which Hyperspan should I use: internal or external?
Internal for inside buildings and protected containment. External for outdoor runs or harsher environments (UV/weather exposure). If your run crosses indoor/outdoor boundaries, choose a product rated for the most demanding section.
Do you supply LSZH / CPR-rated options?
Yes—availability depends on the specific product variant. For building installs, always match the required CPR class and local specification. If you’re unsure what you need, tell us the building type and route.
Can I request samples?
Yes. Contact us with your intended application and approximate run length. We may also recommend a simple pilot test plan to de-risk the deployment.
Do you provide a spec sheet and test evidence?
Yes—product pages will link to datasheets and supporting documentation where available. For project validation, we can also advise on tester configuration and acceptance criteria.
Is Hyperspan compatible with existing network switches and injectors?
In most deployments, yes. Compatibility is driven by standards-based Ethernet/PoE operation. For long PoE runs, always confirm your injector/switch can deliver the required power budget.
Can I use Hyperspan for enterprise office structured cabling?
Hyperspan is designed primarily for extended-reach point-to-point deployments. If you are working to a consultant-led structured cabling standard with formal certification requirements, contact us first so we can advise the best approach.
Do you offer trade pricing or reseller accounts?
Yes. If you’re an installer, integrator, or reseller, contact us with your company details and estimated volume to discuss trade terms.
